How Much Does SEO Cost?

The short answer to this question is, it depends on what you want and how you want to do it. For small businesses it can depend on many things like:

What content do you need? First of all, you need to remake your lading page. It must be good and SEO-optimized. Making it that way will take a lot of time and effort. Many companies also use blogging. And you will also need press releases (they help bringing in traffic) and links, not forgetting about email newsletters as well. Prices among SEO marketers may vary a lot. Some companies may charge ten times as much as others do. It’s probably not a good idea to work with ones who offer services for very low or very high prices.

Do you need social media? With social media, there’s actually a simple rule, that you need to know: do it right, or don’t do it at all. You don’t have the power of big businesses, SMM that’s not at good quality will not damage them, but it will damage you, because you’re a small company. That’s why you must update regularly, write posts that create conversation with your audience, and get back to people very fast when they send you comments or messages. Also always create content that’s useful, amusing or fulfills your users’ needs in some way. In this case website or blog content is a good option, because if you don’t give some value to your audience, you won’t have much of an audience. Social signals are important for SEO. Social isn’t something that works for every company, but if it does for yours, then it’s an absolute must.

Will you do any of it yourself? SEO demands a lot of time investments; it needs good writing skills. That doesn’t mean, that you can’t do it by yourself. Many marketing companies will provide you with all the tools and knowledge you need to start improving your businesses SEO by yourself. You just need to know exactly what your business needs, what kind of content does it need and how many times per week you must make a post (all of these may also depend on the sphere of your activities).

There are many other questions that need to be answered, like quantity of pictures, videos, text or number of keywords that’s normal to use in content. But as we have already talked about that many times, let’s pass on.

It’s important to be realistic with yourself. You may not have the writing skills to create the best blog in the world, and, if you own a small business you probably don’t even have enough time to do all your content. So if you’re on a tight budget, maybe you should consider a hybrid approach. For example, you could write one blog a week and while outsourcing all the SEO optimization and other content work to a partner of your choice.
